Grimes sat out the 2009 season as a redshirt...Grimes was a first team all-district award winner out of Burleson High School (Texas)...Also picked up an all-district second team award in football and an honorable mention honor in basketball...Best high school game came on the mound when he struck out 16 batters in throwing a complete game.
