ADA - East Central University's Rhiannon Mecanovic was named Lone Star Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week, it was announced Thursday by the LSC office in Richardson, Texas.
Mecanovic, a freshman from Berwick, Victoria, Australia, went 3-1 in a pair of duals for ECU last week. She won both of her singles matches and went 1-1 in doubles play as the Lady Tigers lost to Cameron, 6-3, and beat Southern Nazarene, 8-1.
Mecanovic, competing at No. 3 singles, downed Cameron's Sara Flores in three sets, 6-4, 1-6, 6-4, but was on the losing end at No. 2 doubles play. In singles play against Southern Nazarene, she won in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4 and was part of the winning No. 2 doubles team with teammate Kristen Clubb.
